The City of Baytown and the Robert E. Lee High School Interact Club are going to the dogs (and cats). They’re partnering in a special event to raise supplies and awareness and maybe find some good homes for some animals in need. The Interact Club will join Animal Shelter staff at Tractor Supply (6202 Garth Rd.) for an Adoptothon/Pet Food Drive this Saturday (Feb. 11), from 9 am -3 pm.

Anyone interested in adopting a dog or cat from the shelter can come out and interact with several available animals. Those interested in donating supplies can do so at the same time. While the shelter specifically needs pet food, other supplies such as dog and cat toys, treats, collars, leashes, towels, and blankets are also appreciated.

This is the second year for the collaboration between the Animal Shelter and the Interact Club. Last year’s event saw an amazing 22 animals find homes, while 2,000 lbs. of food was donated for the animals at the shelter.

The City of Baytown Animal Shelter and the Robert E. Lee Interact Club plan on making this a yearly Valentine Adoption/Food Drive Event.

For more information about the event, or to inquire about adopting an animal from the shelter, contact the Baytown Animal Shelter at 281-422-7600 or visit them online at www.baytown.org.
